more about my background
I was born in Virginia but spent most of my time in Seoul, South Korea. Before starting PhD, I studied business as an undergrad and earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in law school. My experience in law helped build my logical thinking skills and interdisciplinary lens. I decided to pursue PhD because I have always had a deep interest in seeking knowledge and asking questions about various phenomena.
I have experience in management consulting at Deloitte Korea where I had the opportunity to interact with practitioners both in the entrepreneurial and corporate settings. This experience became an important source of my research questions and helped me understand the significance of engaging with the industry. I believe in doing research that addresses foundational questions in our field to comprehend the complexities in today's market. Through my work, I hope to provide meaningful insights into questions sought by both scholars and practitioners. When I am not learning something new, I love to explore areas around Chapel Hill and enjoy the Carolina weather. I have a lot of hobbies, such as tennis, knitting and crocheting! |
